A gutter (also known as an eaves trough or eaves sprout) is extremely important to a house's structure. Not only does it drain water off a building, but in doing so, it also prevents the shingles and underlying support system from rotting. Over time, gutters need to be repaired or replaced with seamless aluminum, .032 gauge.
Add Gutter Glove to you're gutter system and NEVER CLEAN THEM AGAIN!
Will debris collect on the top of Gutterglove and not fall off?
In general, most of the debris (Leaves, sand, small tree debris) falls off Gutterglove. Through Gutterglove’s extensive research program, we have discovered that a combination of rain pounding, the slope of the roof and gentle to strong winds push virtually all debris off Gutterglove. The pounding of the rain actually self-cleans the mesh in most situations!
Why does Gutterglove use an anodized perforated aluminum frame to support the 316L stainless steel mesh? Anodizing the aluminum frame is defiantly overkill, but then again, all the components used in Gutterglove are. The founders of Gutterglove believe that using the highest quality parts in our product is but one of several things that homeowners want.
Is there a difference in the types of stainless steel mesh used on gutter guards in the market today?
Yes. Gutterglove uses 316L Stainless Steel, the highest grade available for our application. Other companies may use the lower quality steels such as type 304, or even standard 316.
Will Gutterglove handle heavy snow-loads in high elevations?
Yes. It will handle hundreds of pounds of snow! Your gutters would collapse before Gutterglove would break!
Will it fit on any gutter?
Gutterglove fits on just about every existing and new gutter system. In the slight chance that it wouldn’t fit, out Certified Installer would make that determination upon evaluating your home. An example of where it would not be ideal: If the gutter and roof are so old that they are warped and very crooked, Gutterglove may not work effectively.
Is Gutterglove too heavy for a gutter?
No! It weighs approximately 12.8 ounces per foot. Or, 4 pounds for our 5 foot sections! Don't worry about the weight though, because half the weight rests on your roof and the other half on your gutters. Only 6.4 ounces per foot actualy rests on your roof.
Is there any maintenance involved?
Like other gutter guards on the market today, especially those that say ‘no maintenance’ for their product, …… there IS maintenance involved on EVERY gutter guard marketed today. The maintenance is very simple, it’s easy and only takes a few minutes.
Can the Stainless Steel mesh tear?
In normal weathering conditions it will never tear. However, it may tear if an entire tree falls on it.
Can the mesh ever blow off the gutter?
No. The patent pending engineered design prohibits this from happening.
Will Gutterglove out-perform other competitive gutter guards?
A resounding Yes. When compared to the ‘reverse curve water flow systems’ (old technology from the 1920’s), the guards that have that roundish nose at the edge of the gutter and say ‘nothing but water gets through’, ….. there is no comparison at all! Gutterglove outperforms them time and time again. Simply put, performance is based on how much debris gets through a gutter guard. So however big the hole is to allow water through to your gutter, will be the size of debris that can get through also. When comparing hole sizes, the reverse curve gutter guards have holes that are about 50 times larger than Gutterglove! And can cost up to twice as much to install!
Revolutionary Patent Pending Design Gutterglove fits on virtually any existing gutter. It was designed that way! No special brackets or lowering of your gutters is necessary! Gutterglove's specfications were designed so that it simply slips under the roof shingles and fits snuggly to the front lip of your gutter. Three stainless steel screws are used to secure each 5 foot section to the front lip of your gutter. Gutterglove is the ONLY gutter guard company in the world that uses 100% stainless steel screws. Other screws may rust over time. Gutterglove didn’t want to take that chance. As far as water flow capacity, Gutterglove can handle up to 200 inches of hourly rainfall as demonstrated on our water displays at home and garden shows.

Rains and Winds Splash Off Debris
The photo above left (Before) was taken December 2nd, just a week or so after the first rains in Northern California. The photo on the right (After) was taken February 13th, just a little more than two months apart. Our research study shows that in most cases the pounding of the rain and the wind, and the slope of the roof naturally ‘splash’ off most of the sand, leaves and debris and helps keep the functionality of Gutterglove performing year after year.
Visibility of Gutterglove on Your Home
Painted colors are not needed because Gutterglove is not easily seen from the ground. It stands up about 1/8th of an inch above the front lip of the gutter, and recessed back about 1/8th of and inch from the front lip of the gutter.
Fingers and Thumbs Each 5 foot section seams together with a ‘finger’. A finger, as shown in the photo below left is an aluminum fastener that neatly, accurately and firmly locks the sections in place by fitting into ’grooves’ on each side of the aluminum channel that supports the 316L Stainless Steel mesh. Rain does NOT run off the fingers and over the gutter. The fingers have a slight pitch upwards along the length of their middle that drains water back into the mesh. Other companies generally use caulking to seam sections together, which will later crack, tear or peal in the sun.
On outside corners we seam the sections together with ‘thumbs’ as shown in the photo above right. Like the fingers, the thumbs are a little larger and decoratively seam together the two sections making a sealed enclosure. Again, other companies use calking on their outside corner seams which look very unattractive.
The photo shows the use of endcaps to seal off Gutterglove at the end of a gutter. This helps keep bugs, birds and animals out.
Because of the lesser quality materials and design of other similar gutter guards, we are frequently requested to replace them with Gutterglove. Our gutter guard was designed to be your first and last choice.
Roof Valley Water Over-Flow Problems On Inside Gutter Corners
The biggest problem for gutter guard company's is solving the water over-flow issue of where the roof valleys meet the gutter guard on an inside gutter corner (See photo below of what an inside gutter corner looks like, ... also called an 'inside miter'). Unfortunately, no gutter guard company has ever come close to solving this problem. The enormous amount of water that can flow down a valley and through the gutter guard, tends to actually shoot off a gutter guard like a waterfall and into your landscaping. Generally under higher than normal rainfalls. Homes that do not have inside gutter corners do not have this problem. There are currently no problems with 'outside gutter corners', ... or otherwise called 'outside miters'.
Gutterglove has a patent pending solution that eliminates this problem. Of course, there is a trade off. Our research has taught us to use a high grade modified stainless steel mesh for easier rain penetration and reduced daming potential of the larger amounts of debris flowing down the valley. The trade off, .... you may have to clean the top of the inside valley corner mesh once or twice a year or every couple of years, or maybe only once every 3 to 4 years depending on the amount of debris that sits up on the roof valley.
In general, if you have a repetative problem with leaf buildup on your roof valleys, then you will have leaf buildup on the modified valley drains on Gutterglove. Thankfully though, with the use of Gutterglove's Magic Brush, it takes less than a minute to clean off the mesh on a valley drain. If the debris is piling up that much, you would have to clean off the roof anyway. Any debris that goes into the gutter through the larger mesh openings on our valley drains will be to such a small degree that a properly installed gutter will wash virtually all the debris down the downspout. Be very leery of any gutter guard company that doesn't faithfully address this issue openly.
It's worth mentioning here that Gutterglove allows the LEAST amount of debris into your gutter than any other gutter guard manufactured in the world today. The hole openings per square inch in the fine mesh we use (Other than the valley corners) is approximately 10,000.
Functionality Durability, longevity and efficiency were the three biggest concerns for the designers of Gutterglove. We had have never seen a gutter guard with all three qualities. Yet that is what our customers were requesting. Some gutter guards we researched were durable, yet survived a few short years in the weather, ….. or they may have been somewhat efficient, yet not durable or long lasting in the weather, …. or some could last a lifetime, yet poorly efficient and not durable.
Gutterglove is durable, efficient and will last a very long time. Even if part of the mesh were to have a problem, it was designed in such a way that with minimal effort, the mesh can be taken out of the aluminum channel and replaced with another piece of mesh. No other gutter guard can do this as efficiently as Gutterglove.
